Patients in Clinical Trials

To expand your knowledge about clinical trials, we encourage you to visit the Patient in Clinical Trials Portal.

The portal was developed in response to the growing need for health education, particularly in the field of clinical research, which is still frequently perceived with distance and mistrust and is sometimes regarded as a treatment of last resort. Reliable, high-quality information is essential to enable patients to assess the potential benefits and risks of participation and to make informed decisions. The platform provides verified information in an accessible format, enhances patient engagement, supports informed decision-making, and fosters trust in researchers, institutions, and sponsors.

On the Patient in Clinical Trials website, patients can find comprehensive and understandable informations, such as:

  • Explanation of what clinical trials are, their types and phases, and the principles governing their conduct
  • Description of the participation process—from qualification for a clinical trial, through study visits and informed consent, to participant rights and obligations and issues related to adverse events
  • Educational materials, a clinical trials search engine, news updates, and testimonials from individuals who have already participated in clinical studies. As a result, it facilitates a comprehensive understanding of clinical trial participation and the available support mechanisms.

Coordination of this project and development of the portal is the responsibility of the Medical Research Agency (MRA).

We encourage you to explore the materials, and we remain at your disposal in case of any questions.

The Patient in Clinical Trials Portal is a project implemented by the Medical Research Agency in cooperation with Partners. It is an official, reliable, and continuously updated information platform aimed at familiarizing patients and their families with clinical trials. The website contains clear and trustworthy content explaining what clinical trials are, their stages, patient rights and obligations, and how enrollment works. It also provides practical guidance on participant safety and addresses myths and concerns related to trial participation. As such, the portal plays an important educational role and supports patients in making informed decisions.
